Guidelines on educating on sexuality within the family
This is a book for parents who want to prepare their children for adult life, especially with regard to sexuality. Taking Christ's 'self-giving' as the model, it reflects on the universal call to 'true love and chastity', and the vocation to marriage. With mothers and fathers the prime educators of their children in the home, guidance is offered on decency, modesty, privacy, and self-control, parents as models, and the inestimable value of growing up in a 'domestic community' of life and love. The stages from innocence to puberty and adolescence, up to adulthood are each considered. First published in 1996, these clear, compassionate and practical guidelines remain the foremost expression of Church teaching on this delicate and arduous task.
