Consecrated for Worship is a teaching and policy document for the Catholic Church in England and Wales. It concerns the building, alteration, conservation and maintenance of the Church’s places of worship. It assembles together material from the liturgical books of the Roman Rite and the teaching documents and guidelines of the Holy See. In addition it applies and develops that teaching as it applies to the particular circumstances of the Church in England and Wales.
Designed to assist those involved in building, reordering or making alterations within a church, or dealing with statutory bodies responsible for listed buildings, it is a necessary resource for clergy, the lay faithful, parishes and religious communities, Diocesan Liturgy Commissions and other committees charged with special responsibility for art and architecture in all diocesan churches, Historic Churches Committees, charged with particular responsibility for ‘listed churches’; architects and other professionals involved in a building or reordering project.
