Graffy, Adrian
An introduction to the Old Testament and how to read it
Catholics have always treasured the Sacred Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments, but the Old Testament can appear difficult and troublesome. This introductory booklet tackles the problems facing readers. It summarises recent declarations of the Church concerning the Old Testament, and provides an overview of all the books of the Old Testament, including the deutero-canonicals. Suggestions are also made about reading the Scriptures more regularly, and about which Bible to choose.
Fr Adrian Graffy has taught Sacred Scripture since 1983 at St John's Seminary, Wonersh, Surrey. He is the delegate of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales to the worldwide Catholic Biblical Federation.
